Website & Community Info

This website was setup and organised by the below group of people as a place to house all resources for the Harry Potter speedrunning community as well as providing a simple and explanitory landing place for people new to the games to find out more information about the games and the speedrunning community that surrounds them.

Therefore, this site is a contribution of several people's work across multiple decades and where possible the site creators would like to attribute the respective resources, content ect to it's respective owner/originator. The site also serves to be a mark of the history of the community and more specifically the speedruns done within it. With our exhaustive WR History database cataloguing every WR run (that we are aware of) to every happen across the many years that these games have been speedran.

The First Harry Potter Speedrun was completed back on July 31st 2005 and was for the first game on PC (which had released less than 4 years earlier in November of 2001). Since then the 23 "Mainline" Harry Potter games have all been speedran to varying degrees of popularity. There are 23 Harry Potter games that the Harry Potter Speedrunning community, these are all movie adaptations of their respective movie. They include:

Joining the list in February 2023 was Hogwarts Legacy, the newest game in the Harry Potter universe and the only modern game to be speedrunable, with Hogwarts Mystery, Wizards Unite and other post film Harry Potter games being more mobile orientated.

Miney

Project Lead, Lead Developer

Miney joined the HPSR community in August 2021 and has always been obsessed with stats and numbers. In late 2022 when the previously maintained World Record History document for the community began to be un updated Miney re-created the document and brought it up to date with where records were at this time. Following onto this, they had the idea of creating a website which would encompass as much as possible about the HPSR community. And thus the site was born.

Orsokuma

Developer Support

Orsokuma (or Bear) is a developer of 20+ years and is incredibly well versed in the building of and development of web based products. His contribution to this project has included many aspects besides just his development skills though, as he has/is kind enough to be hosting the site and all supporting files on his server.

Marczeslaw

Marc is a long standing member of the HPSR community, generally favoured for his technical skills when it comes to Discord, Twitch and Speedrun.com.

The longest standing community member on the project, SLS has seen the HPSR community go through much growth and development in the nearly 10 years since his first run.

Winter

Although Winter may not be an HP speed-runner themselves, they still play a very important role within the community. A respected and valued person, Winter is a moderator for a large majority of channels within the HPSR community. Winter has helped to moderate for multiple events/tournaments on Nixxo\'s channel as well as many others.They are an extremely valued member of the community, and we are honoured and privileged to have them helping us out with this project.

Nixxo

Beta Tester

Nixxo is a Twitch Streamer and Moderator within the HPSR community. Mod for all eight PC games, Hogwarts Legacy and fan game Harry Obby, Nixxo is well acquainted with the community. He is also the person responsible for the modern Dumbledore's Army Twitch team in which you can find a wide selection of Harry Potter speed-runners. Nixxo is also an organiser for the community Marathon channel Potterthon. On his channel you will find him doing a variety of things as he (self christened) "Slow runs" through the Harry Potter games.Nixxo is the first runner to have ever completed a 100% Full Series (All 23 mainline games back to back, to back)
